Katie Crippen was an African American blues/jazz singer who recorded Blind Man Blues to the Black Swan record label. Count Basie was a teenager when she first worked with her. She died in 1929. Her music always paves itself for a perfect dub.

In 1972 Karlheinz Stockhausen delivered some fascinating lectures in London on his musical process. His piece Mantra had just been released. Here Masonik remixes Mantra with Electronic Migration Panel's Fall Away. Calling into direct reference Stockhausen's formula of regular repetition and decay-accent.

ABC Pool contribution: Dream In Blue Woods - by Jutta Pryor - haunting - A work in progress - minimalist low-res concept (bit like a story-board) for video and remix of audio -adding several other effects to the audio, water tap, echo footsteps, lyrebird call and re-working Benn's original image into video. & music by Masonik.

After 6 months hiatus, Mixes for Yoga returns with a new selection of music. While the last, ‘Oceanside’ mix, explored tranquility of a beach, I’m starting 2013 with a desert theme mix; a place also filled with sand but, instead of the soothing sounds of surf, we explore silence and sensation of open space one can find in a desert. While many tracks in this mix come from netlabel releases and lesser known artists, I also included some rarities by fairly recognizable names like Massive Attack’s remix of Nusrat Fateh Ali Knah “Mustt Mustt”, Liquid Stranger’s early track “Between the bubbles” and Robin Guthrie’s (of Cocteau Twins fame) collaboration with ambient pianist Harold Budd. Also included Masonik.

Nation Geographic created the first accurate visualisation, using CGI, of a single shot journeying from Earth to the edge of the universe. Pax Andrews created a mix of this using the music of Masonik. A perfect sound track for thumbing a lift .... through space. Non-Commercial use.
